Welcome to Wisamar educational institute – non profit limited liability company

20 years ago, I was standing at the Leipzig train station, waiting for a group of young people from Lithuania, the Republic of Moldova and Spain – I have no idea who was more nervous, the young people on the train or me, barely older than them and in my first EU project as an organizer.

We sat around the campfire, talking about God and the world, and after a short time we were just a group of Europeans who understood each other well.

This power of European exchange, which makes it so easy and uncomplicated to work together across national borders, continues to fascinate me today and is the main driver of our work as a Wisamar educational institute – at European level, but also locally and regionally.

Founded in 2005 as a non-profit organization, we work in a great team of 12 people in education and training, including language and integration courses, project management and EU mobility.

I am pleased that you have found your way to our website and we are all even more pleased – my colleagues and myself – to have great exchanges and cooperations.

Wisamar in years …

Sabine starts her engagement in EU educational projects, organizes as volunteer and later as freelancer youth exchanges, mobility projects, learning partnerships and so on. – with growing experiences but the same enthusiasm as on the first day.

The birth of Wisamar Bildungsgesellschaft – still quite small, equipped with a desktop PC and Thermofax. A few months later, in February 2006, we received the first mobility group – from our partner Koninklijk Atheneum Emanuel Hiel from Schaarbeek, Belgium.

We gain reputation in EU mobility – and the germanwide newspaper “Welt am Sonntag” is becoming aware of us as an expert. In the same year we start our first Grundtvig Learning Partnership: “Bridge – women towards social economy” with Associazione N.E.T., Italy, and Fundación Diagrama, Spain,

We are sending the first groups from the Leipzig region – to Slovenia and Italy. Our great collaboration with the Municipality Kabelsketal begins, which is still ongoing.

Ready for Europe – Sabine moderates the event on EU Mobility of the Leipzig Municipality together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Crafts. Exciting discussions and new cooperations arise.

We receive an award – the Osmünder Stone, the honorary prize of the Osmünder Spritze 1811 e.V. for our engagement in Kabelsketal. It is always great to work together!

We are awarded the contract for our largest project so far – Supermom Kick-Off, a target group-oriented further education for single parents in film and media. The start of further successful Partnerships, Transfer of Innovation and KA2 projects.

We move – from our cosy office with a garden it goes to Heinrichstr. 5-7, a nice large seminar room next to the offices is not a substitute for the peaches from the garden, but what do you do for more space … space, which we use meaningful as ProfilPASS dialogue center, accredited by the DIE German Institute for Adult Education.

“Care for Europe” – in cooperation with our longtime partner VšĮ Kauno paslaugų verslo darbuotojų profesinio rengimo centras from Lithuania – is awarded twice. We receive the “Good Practice” award for sending a group to Lithuania and for welcoming our Lithuanian colleagues here in Leipzig. Great if a cooperation works so well and quality is appreciated even twice! In the campaign of the European Commission “We mean Business” we inform companies about mobility. The “You can do it!” project which we coordinate, receives an award from the Czech National Agency – a beautiful, creative project to exchange experience in start-up and management practices in creative handcraft.

After “We mean business”, we are once again involved in a European Commission campaign: “Youth on the Move”. We share our experiences in European mobility and advise young people.

An exciting year full of highlights: The TÜV confirms our quality management and we are AZAV certified. At the Regional Conference South Germany of the adult education agenda and the Ministry of Culture Baden-Württemberg, Sabine will hold a workshop developed in our project “Supermom”. Our action circle is getting bigger – we welcome vocational students from China.

ECVET in practice – The German National Agency honors our mobility project.

Hurray – another best practice award! This time for the Erasmus+ KA2 project “Sinbad” on the subject of acquiring skills in early childhood education through the method of storytelling. Storytelling – one of our favorite topics! If you want to see more about what we did, click

We train – Thomas passes the IHK exam as a vocational instructor and Katja, our former language student, starts her apprenticeship as Media Designer for digital and print.
